Edexcel (9EC0) Theme 3

Edexcel (9EC0) A-Level Theme 3: Business Behaviour and the Labour Market builds on the microeconomic principles introduced in Theme 1 and applies them to firms, industries and labour markets.

You as students study business growth, business objectives, revenues, costs and profits, before examining different market structures, including perfect competition, monopoly and oligopoly.

The course also explores contestability, pricing strategies, efficiency and the behaviour of firms, alongside the operation of labour markets, wage determination and government intervention. Again, you will develop more sophisticated microeconomic analysis and evaluate how firms, workers and governments respond to changing market conditions.
